Electric direct compression molding machines


The current high level of interest globally in environmental problems and energy efficiency is bringing the electric injection molding machine into the spotlight of the plastics industry as a contender.
In light of these circumstances, MEIKI has developed its own electric injection molding machine.
The direct drive type electric direct compression NADEM Series has been developed with a compact, high-output AC servomotor built in.
The NADEM Series lineup comprises 6 models, with a mold clamping force of 80, 120, 180, 250, 360 and 500 tons respectively.
The first model in the series to be completed is the NADEM 1200 (clamping force: 120 tons).
The other models will be developed in succession by spring of next year

NADEM Features

1)Mold Clamping System
1.

The direct compression mold clamping machine, which combines the excellent operation precision and energy efficiency of the electric type with the superb pressure control of the hydraulic type, is a completely new type of direct compression mold clamping machine, requiring only a very small amount of oil for hydraulic pressure generation by the AC servomotor and ball screw. (Patent pending)

Mold opening and closing is directly driven by the AC servomotor, so there is no transmission loss. Startup response time is 0.1 seconds and stop precision is 0.01 mm, enabling this dry cycle direct pressure type machine to provide a cycle time like that of a toggle machine.

The ejector is also directly driven by the AC servomotor with a fast response time of 0.015 seconds, so it is possible to reduce the combined mold opening and closing time and mold cycle time.

The clamping force, base plate size and mold closing stroke are larger than the equivalent class of MEIKI hydraulic machines, making it possible to perform a greater range of molding tasks.




2)Injection Mechanism

High response has been realized by increasing the performance and precision of the injection and weighing, and by the use of direct drive, which reduces inertial moment to 1/6 that of a belt drive. As a result, the injection speed can reach as high as 300 mm/sec. For the 120-ton class, the machine can start at a maximum speed of 0.024 seconds, with fall time also a fast 0.024 seconds, making it suitable also for thin-walled molding and IT-related molding.

Use of a special back pressure generator for back pressure control provides increased precision for low pressure areas and provides a long life for the load cell, bearings, and other parts. (Patent pending)




3)Controller
1.

The VISTAC-? controller developed exclusively for NADEM provides high responsiveness for ultra-precise molding with a processing speed of 0.2 ms for mold opening and closing, injection speed and compression and other functions, and provides high operability.

2.

The use of a panel touch type 12.1-inch color LCD screen eliminates the bother of cursor operation.

4)Other Features
1.

Belts and pulleys are not used, so there is no belt noise and no dust produced by belt wear, making belt replacement and tension control unnecessary.

2. MEIKI has developed the technology for precise synchronous control of multiple AC servomotors, greatly extending the usable life of the ball screws
3.

The machines are direct compression mold clamping machines, making possible the installation of ejector bars which cover a wide vertical range that is difficult for toggle machines.
